Noseband Protectors

My dad usually donates to several charities, and this year he had received an article from the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals). The article was a call to help create some simple noseband protectors, in order to help ease the pain of donkeys and horses in the Middle East.

When creating a lot of my work, its usually for friends or for clients I don’t often get to see the effects of what my work has done. I know this is only a small gesture, but using some spare fabric, some white velcro and some clear nylon thread I put together 3 of these nose protectors.

Hopefully these three simple pieces of fabric will help some animals in need. This is something that I would like to do more as I progress in my career- design, crafts and arts to help others.

Thank you so much for supporting the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) by making 3 noseband protectors. Noseband protectors that will be used to help ease the suffering of horses and donkeys in the Middle East.

There has been a fantastic response to this appeal. Thanks to your help we are now starting to replace old, worn protectors with quality new ones. So far, we have received over 3,000 of these vital noseband protectors that will be shipped straight to our partner organisation the Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS).

Noseband protectors offer a simple solution to the unnecessary pain and discomfort caused by ill-fitting harnesses. Sending regular replacements is of long-term benefit to the animals that wear these harnesses.

I’d like to say a big thank you to all WSPA supporters who have helped keep this appeal going, so that we can protect the donkeys and horses of the Middle East now and into the future.

Hurrah! They were received and are ready to be shipped!
